short info:
It cannot be said that Susana and Rebeca have a background that is consistent with being musicians - one a customising fashion designer and the other a geneticist - not exactly a typical start to a career in music. But they have always shared a great passion for it since before meeting as students in Madrid where they had weekend jobs in the city's club scene. Immediately recognising their strong similarities they became best of friends. From there they went on to play at the Gigolo party at Sonar and receive and invitation from DJ HELL to join the Gigolo family. And now they bring you their first mix CD for International Deejay Gigolo Records, the cult music label that celebrates its 10th birthday in 2007.

Opening Le Mix is Dutchman RUDE 66, who has also released on Bunker Records, Creme Organization and Viewlexx. Detroit techno legends DREXCIYA also feature with their tune Digital Tsunami. GERALD DONALD from DREXCIYA is also the man behind DOPPLEREFFEKT who had two albums on Gigolo and have just put out their lates on APHEX TWINS label REPHLEX. This track first appeared on TRESOR in 2001. Heartbeat by JOR-EL is a first-hear exclusive: the pumping track is due for release as 12" vinyl on Gigolo Records in the fall which will be his second 12" on Gigolo following Space Tracks in 2005. DJ HELL's THROBBING GRISTLE cover Hot On The Heels Of Love taken from his massive album Geteert Und Gefedert is also included. Automato by INAQUI MARIN was originally released in 2004 on Regular. His tune You Can't Escape was included on IVAN SMAGGHE's Fabric mix (Fabric23). Vienna's PATRICK PULSINGER, a long term Gigolo associate through the Disko B connection (he did co-production work on HELLs afore mentioned album), is present with his proto-glitch track Free Smack from '95. PULSINGER who runs his own label, Cheap Records, has done many remixes for Gigolo in the past including Eye Wanna C U by fellow Vienna resident G. RIZO and the mega-hit Never Be Alone by JUSTICE VS SIMIAN. DER ZYKLUS is another product of the Dataphysix Labs, that it, its also produced by the man behing DOPPLEREFFEKT (and DREXCIYA). Die Dämmerung von NAnotech first appeared on Gigolo in 1998 and was recently re-released on Dutch electro label Clone (as part of their Clone Classic Cuts series). JOHN SELWAY is another man with strong Gigolo affiliations. Though plans for an (italo) mix of his own on Gigolo have as yet not come to fruition, it is great to have him on Le Mix in the form of his collaboration with HENZE and RIOS: their tune Danza 8.5 is a prime slice of sublime future-disco dance floor action. White Flag Black by DAVIS & MAY is the first release on new German label Maripoza. The track is a prime slice of thumping minimal action so fits right in with LE CHICs mix. TONY ROHR's remix of We Interface by X-DREAM also came out in 2007, as a Japanese release. A dark industrial groove that'll freak you out on the dancefloor; "the sun never set on cyberspace"! LE CHIC give credit to another of their countrymen in the form of Spaniard MIGUEL MENDOZA who appears in the mix with his tune At Night. While the following track, Mary's Army (Butch Remix) by WEHBBA, is a real builder full of seriously hot frequencies. Berlin resident TRIKE is a long-term member of the Gigolo crew. This track Talk Back originally appeared on Gigolo back in '99 and a remix 12" of it also came out on the label in 2006. This tune is so serious you better be sure not to talk back to TRIKE who as well as Gigolo has released on Bpitch Control and Sender. Following TRIKE is another German electro heavyweight, ANTHONY ROTHER, head of the Data Punk label. With its church organs melodies, GOTT (trans. God) is an appropriate title for this track - all hail! Frenchman DJ YELLOW aka ALAIN HO, supllies the penultimate song on this outstanding mix. 3.7. Tranzylvania is a gorgeous tranced-out electro tune he co-produced with Philadelphia's KING BRITT. And last but in no way least is Droid by HYPNOSIS. The LE CHIC girls show they really know how to leave you on a high note by dropping this right at the end of their phenomenal mix. This pure Italo-disco number from '87 is a marvelously euphoric tune - just what you want to hear before going out. Le Mix is another excellent feel-good party mix brought to you by the people who party the best - Gigolo Records. This is the second DJ mix by women on Gigolo this year (following PRINCESS SUPERSTARs American Gigolo 3 in January) so it's fair to say the Gigolettas are doing it for themselves! LE CHIC sure know how to mould a DJ set so as to keep you entertained for a good hour. They have learned the skills behind the decks and have captured that energy perfectly on Le Mix. The pace is relentless throughout this incredible mix compilation: from start to finish it is packed with bomb tracks and not once does it let up. LE CHIC have managed to capture a fine party mix and have done the Gigolo name proud. You can be sure they have a long and successful DJ career ahead of them - anyone who hears this mix is gonna want to check them out live in the club.
